Four intrepid cyclists from an academy in Weston super Mare set off from Land’s End to cycle back to their school.
Andy Watts Science Teacher, Kevin Bowen Maths Teacher, Mark Armstrong Head of Acer College and Steve Holland Assistant Principal and PE teacher,
Left land’s End 7.30 Saturday morning and arrived back at Hans Price Academy ahead of schedule at 2.30 PM on Sunday, after a stopover in Devon Saturday night.
In total they cycled 200 miles, 120 miles on the first day and 80 miles on the second day. It was all in aid of a very worthy cause, raising money for the Weston Food Bank, and so far they have raised a total of £620.
A big thank you to Carlo Hooper, Maths teacher who drove the support minibus. Hans Price students also had the chase to follow the action live via Instagram posts.
The team said, “We wanted to inspire students to take part in physical activity, and to raise money for this local brilliant cause who carry out amazing work to support our community. Hopefully this will persuade students to broaden their horizons and take on challenges, and we would like to thank students for their support via Instagram over the two days. We would also like to thank NK sports who sponsored our kits!”
