While we cannot know the future, the purpose of the CLF Strategy 2030 is to ensure the CLF is prepared and focused on meeting the challenges of this decade, while also providing hope and opportunities to our learners, our people and our communities; it is against the ideals of this narrative that work of the trust is monitored and its future success judged.
Equity Through Education is underpinned by three core strategies central to all trust activity. They guide decisions around development and improvement, while adhering to our commitment to create equity of opportunity, promote inclusion, remove disadvantage and reject discrimination.
The Core Enablers within the CLF Strategy provide the conditions, capability, and infrastructure required to deliver the trust’s core ambition of Equity Through Education.
While the Core Strategies define what the trust is seeking to achieve, the Enablers ensure that the organisation has the capacity, culture, and sustainability to deliver those ambitions consistently across all settings. Taken together, the Enablers:

This aligns with the framing of ‘Inclusive Excellence; High Expectations’ and the increasing focus on retention, culture and sustainability as critical to long-term impact.

Ahead of this weekend’s crunch Six Nations clash against Ireland, three of England’s Six Nations stars were beamed in via 02’s 5g network for a surprise virtual PE lesson at Bristol’s Summerhill Academy.
Bristol-born Ellis Genge was on hand to provide guidance to a group of junior school children between the ages of 7-11 alongside England colleagues Henry Slade and Jack Nowell.

The Cabot Learning Federation is delighted and extremely proud to announce that following a Section 5 inspection by the education watchdog Ofsted in January, Frome Vale Academy has been judged to be an ‘outstanding’ school in all areas. This represents a jump from its previous judgement of requires improvement, an absolutely amazing achievement having also gone through the pandemic.

A group of young historians from Summerhill Academy have enjoyed their first school trip since the start of the pandemic to the Roman Baths.
Famed for its piping hot springs, the group of 63 Year 5 pupils toured the magnificent 2,000-year-old Roman Baths complex in the City of Bath, walked on the original Roman pavements and viewed the ruins of the Temple of Sulis Minerva.
Begbrook Primary Academy pupils took part in a Basketball competition and triumphed, despite only having played together for a few weeks. The tournament was staged at Bristol Metropolitan Academy.
Pupils at Begbrook Primary Academy had the chance to handle many animals during a visit from Wild Science, frogs snakes and a bearded dragon to name but a few!
A Bristol primary school told it ‘required improvement’ by Ofsted inspectors almost four years ago has met that challenge – and then some.
Ofsted inspectors went back to Frome Vale Academy – and from giving the school the concerning and lowly rating back in February 2018, the school has now been judged as ‘outstanding’ in all areas.

The family of five schools that collectively make up Snowdon Village have been working hard over the past three years to achieve something that no other school in Bristol has ever achieved before.
Trauma Informed Schools UK, an approved provider in mental health training, awarded Snowdon Village with ‘Trauma Informed Status’ in 2021 after an extensive assessment process.
The Alternative Provision (AP) schools – The Nest, Engage, Bristol Futures Academy, City School HQ and City School Kingswood – which are part of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF), provide education to children who are referred through the Bristol Inclusion panel.
