Steve Taylor is the Chief Executive Officer of the Cabot Learning Federation, a post he has held since January 2015. His previous two roles were also within the CLF, first as the first principal of Bristol Metropolitan Academy and more recently Executive Principal. Before joining the CLF, Steve had previously worked in North Somerset and Bristol, before moving to the Netherlands and working as an MFL teacher in a Dutch secondary school. It was there that he took up his first headship in a MAT in the town of Leiden. After 6 years in the post, Steve returned to work briefly at Backwell School in North Somerset before moving to lead Bristol Metropolitan Academy in 2009, his appointment coinciding with the launch of the CLF.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, and a trained Lead Inspector for Ofsted, for whom he inspects in the South West. He holds governance roles for two separate MATs in the Midlands, and is also the Vice Chair of the Queen Street Group of multi-academy trusts.
