Peter is a highly experienced executive and world-class engineering authority who, over a 37 year career with Rolls-Royce, made a significant contribution to the Group’s technical, operational and commercial success and played a pivotal role in maintaining its leadership position in engineering and technology.
In early 2018 Peter stood down from his last role at Rolls-Royce as Chief Operating Officer – Engineering & Technology, a position he had held since 2013, to embark on a new phase of his career, applying his deep knowledge and extensive experience to assist exciting, leading-edge, high-growth companies in an advisory and consulting capacity.
Previously at Rolls-Royce, Peter spent nine years as Director, Engineering & Technology for Civil Aerospace, following six years as Director, Engineering & Technology for Defence Aerospace.
Peter was elected a Fellow of the UK Royal Academy of Engineering in 2008, having received the Academy Silver Medal in 2005 for his contribution to vertical lift propulsion developments. A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, he also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Southampton University.
Peter is privileged to have been engaged with the Cabot Learning Federation journey – and what a journey – for more than 20 years, from the days of the John Cabot CTC, and is energised by how the CLF strives to positively impact children’s learning and life chances..
Peter was born in Cardiff, South Wales and now lives in the Derbyshire Dales. He is married, has two grown-up children and two step-daughters. He likes to get outdoors at every opportunity and also enjoys the arts and music.
