Two members of staff and six students from Bristol Metropolitan Academy (BMA) visited Beacon Rise Primary School in Kingswood this week to help celebrate Black History Month.
Richard Dixon and John Price accompanied six BMA students on the visit, Luchia and Eva from Year 10, and Astou, Maria, Hafsoh and Binta from Year 8. The students delivered a special assembly to primary school pupils, sharing their knowledge and experiences as part of the Black History Month celebrations.
The assembly provided an opportunity for pupils to learn more about Black history, heritage and experiences, while encouraging discussion and reflection.
The BMA students were excellent ambassadors for the academy, demonstrating confidence, enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to engaging with the younger pupils. Their contributions helped make the assembly an engaging and informative experience for everyone involved.
Richard Dixon and John Price said: “We were incredibly proud of the way our students represented Bristol Met.
“They spoke with confidence and enthusiasm, shared their knowledge and experiences, and engaged brilliantly with the primary school pupils.
“It was wonderful to see them making such a positive contribution to the Black History Month celebrations.”
Bristol Metropolitan Academy would like to thank all six students for their hard work and for representing the academy so positively during the visit.
