Broadoak Academy commemorates Remembrance Day

Six House Captains proudly represented Broadoak Academy at the Uphill War Memorial, attending a moving Service of Remembrance alongside Rose Hooke, Associate Assistant Principal for Culture. Their exemplary conduct and respectful presence were a true reflection of the academy’s values and the spirit of community it strives to uphold.

Back at the academy, the entire school came together to observe a two-minute silence. Naomi Aves, Head of Creative and Performing Arts, performed The Last Post, creating a poignant moment of reflection.

The school was also honoured to be joined by Liz Brown from the Royal British Legion, continuing Broadoak’s meaningful affiliation with this important organisation.

Students were invited to wear their Scouts, Guides, or Cadets uniforms, and those who did took part in a special remembrance event that was both heartfelt and inspiring.

Rose Hook, Associate Assistant Principal for Culture, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for their respectful participation and for honouring the significance of this day.”

This is one of many events across the Cabot Learning Federation to mark this important day.
