Leaders at Uphill Village Academy offered a big thank you to Broadoak Academy, whose Year 7 pupils visited Uphill to talk to Year 6 pupils about the transition from primary school to secondary school.
The visit gave pupils the opportunity to ask questions about life at secondary school, from making new friends and finding their way around to lessons, homework and extracurricular activities.
The Broadoak students were brilliant at answering questions honestly and reassuring their younger peers about the exciting journey ahead.
As a result, pupils now feel more confident and better prepared for their upcoming ‘Big Step’ transition week later this month.
A spokesperson said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Year 7 pupils from Broadoak Academy for taking the time to share their experiences with our Year 6 children.
“Their honesty, enthusiasm and reassurance helped answer many questions and eased any concerns pupils may have had about moving to secondary school.
“The visit has given our pupils greater confidence as they prepare to take this exciting next step in their education.”
