Brook Academy pupils reel in success through angling partnership

Children at Brook Academy have been making a splash through an exciting partnership with the Angling Trust, the national governing body for angling in England.

The Angling Trust, a representative, member-based organisation, works to champion fish, fishing, and the environment across the country.

Through this collaboration, professional fishing coaches have guided Brook Academy pupils from learning essential skills in the classroom and on dry land to putting their knowledge into practice along the banks of local rivers.

Students have developed a wide range of angling techniques, building patience, focus, and confidence along the way. The hands-on experience has allowed them to fully engage with the natural environment while honing their new skills.

The project has proven to be a resounding success, inspiring enthusiasm and uncovering impressive talent among the young participants. Many pupils have developed a keen interest in angling, with some already showing remarkable promise.

A spokesperson for the academy said: “This project has been a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to learn new skills, build confidence, and connect with the outdoors.

“Working with the Angling Trust has brought learning to life in a truly engaging way, and we’re incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and progress the children have shown. We now have some very keen and talented young anglers at Brook Academy.”
