Grant helps Broadoak Academy revitalise forest school

Thanks to a generous grant from Tesco, Broadoak Academy has been able to rejuvenate its forest school area, restoring the space to nature and making it a hub of outdoor learning.

Contractors have excavated the site and installed pathways, ensuring it is fully accessible to all students. Large planters have also been put in place, ready for students to grow vegetables and flowers throughout the year.

As a result, the forest school is thriving. Groups of students meet regularly each week to take part in a wide range of activities, including learning how to safely build and extinguish fires, constructing dens and shelters, and working with a variety of tools.

This is a long-term project, and the academy is excited to see how students continue to make the most of the space in the months ahead.

A spokesperson for Broadoak Academy said: “We are incredibly grateful to Tesco for supporting this project.

“The forest school is giving our students the opportunity to connect with nature, develop practical life skills, and build confidence in a safe and inspiring environment.

“It’s wonderful to see the space already being enjoyed, and we look forward to watching it grow along with our students.”
