Hans Price Academy is celebrating the outstanding achievement of Year 9 student Elliot Clothier in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Intermediate Maths Challenge.
Elliot not only achieved a gold certificate – the highest award level in the challenge – but was also named Best in School.
His exceptional performance earned him a place in the prestigious Grey Kangaroo follow-on round.
Elliot was one of only a few thousand students across the country to qualify, marking a significant accomplishment.
In the Grey Kangaroo round, Elliot faced an hour-long, 25-question multiple-choice paper designed to stretch the very best young mathematicians. He performed exceptionally, answering 24 out of 25 questions correctly, which earned him a Gold Kangaroo certificate – a rare and impressive accolade.

“Elliot’s success reflects not only his mathematical talent but also the dedication and hard work he put into preparing for the challenge.
