Pupils from Haywood Village Academy enjoyed an unforgettable educational visit to the Williams Racing Formula 1 headquarters, gaining a fascinating insight into the world of elite motorsport engineering and innovation.
Located around 20 kilometres (12 miles) southwest of Oxford, the 60-acre campus has been home to Williams Racing since 1996. The state-of-the-art headquarters is where the team’s design, engineering and manufacturing operations come together to develop its Formula 1 cars.
During the visit, pupils discovered the cutting-edge technology, teamwork and problem-solving skills that drive success in Formula 1. They were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the headquarters, explored the team’s facilities and even had the opportunity to test their driving skills on Formula 1 racing simulators.
The visit gave pupils a unique opportunity to see how science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) are applied in a world-class sporting environment, helping to inspire future careers and ambitions.
Haywood Village Academy extends its sincere thanks to everyone at Williams Racing for providing such a memorable and inspiring experience.
A spokesperson for Haywood Village Academy said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to experience first-hand the incredible innovation, teamwork and engineering excellence behind Formula 1.
“Seeing the technology in action and meeting the people who help make it all happen brought STEM subjects to life in an exciting and engaging way.
“We’d like to thank everyone at Williams Racing for their warm welcome and for inspiring our pupils to dream big about their futures.”
