Herons’ Moor Academy were fortunate to welcome Tomas Williams from the UK Parliament, who delivered an engaging and informative talk to our Key Stage 2 pupils.
Tomas spoke to pupils about the structure and function of the UK Parliament, focusing on the roles of the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
He explained how Members of Parliament (MPs) are elected and how they work to represent the interests of their local communities.
A school spokesperson said: “We are delighted that our pupils had the opportunity to learn firsthand about how our democracy works.
“Tomas’s visit brought the subject to life and inspired many thoughtful questions from our pupils.
“It was a fantastic learning experience that complements our curriculum perfectly.”
