Staff and pupils at Herons’ Moor Academy and Baytree Special School have been very successful in organising a large-scale donation drive, collecting much-needed groceries and other essential items for the Weston-super-Mare Foodbank. This project is one of the many that the schools carry out in partnership.
As well as a wide range of groceries including pasta, tinned food, and drinks, the school community has also been collecting vital toiletries to support families in need.
The Weston-super-Mare Foodbank is a local charity that provides emergency food and support to people in crisis, offering a minimum of three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced food to those referred to them.
Georgie Tinker, Principal of Herons’ Moor Academy, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the compassion and generosity shown by our pupils, staff, and families.
“Supporting our local community is at the heart of what we do at Herons’ Moor, and this donation drive has shown how powerful it can be when we all come together to make a difference.”
The school would like to thank everyone who contributed to the initiative and helped make the collection such a success.
