A major Get into Teaching event is to be staged at one of the South West’s leading attractions, We the Curious, bringing together aspiring teachers, training providers, and education experts from across the region.
Organised by the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT), the event will offer invaluable advice, guidance, and next steps for anyone considering a career in teaching.
Covering the South West, the exhibition will feature stands from ten local teacher training providers, including the University of the West of England (UWE), the University of Bristol (UoB), Bath Spa University (BSU), Somerset Centre for Integrated Learning (SCIL), and The Mid Somerset Consortium (MSC), among others.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet recently qualified teachers (RQTs), hear first-hand accounts of their training journeys, and gain insights into what it’s really like to join the teaching profession. Teacher training providers represented at the event serve Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, North Somerset, and Somerset.
The programme will also include engaging presentations on “Getting into Teaching”, alongside talks from local Bristol headteachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), who will offer one-to-one advice to attendees exploring the profession.
This Bristol-based event forms part of the Bristol Future Project, in partnership with Hannah Woodhouse from Bristol City Council’s Excellence in Schools Group.
