Pupils at The Nest thrive at Forest School

Pupils at The Nest, part of Snowdon Village, have been embracing the great outdoors as part of their Forest School programme — an innovative form of outdoor education that allows children to learn and grow through hands-on experiences in a natural woodland setting.

Forest School encourages children to build personal, social, and technical skills through activities like climbing, nature exploration, and adventure-based learning. The programme has already begun to yield positive results, with pupils showing increased self-esteem, confidence, and a greater sense of well-being.

Spending time in nature is widely recognised for its mental and physical health benefits. Pupils at The Nest are not only becoming more active but are also developing a deep appreciation for the environment. Through immersive experiences in the natural world, they are learning to foster a sense of wonder, curiosity, and responsibility for the planet.

A spokesperson for The Nest said: “Forest School has been a transformative experience for our pupils.

“We’ve seen them grow in confidence, take on new challenges, and build meaningful relationships with both their peers and the environment around them.

“It’s about more than just education — it’s about empowering young people to thrive in every sense of the word.”
