Summerhill Academy named top primary school in Bristol for progress and performance

Summerhill Academy has been named Bristol’s top-performing primary school based on the latest progress scores, according to data from last year’s SATs results.

An impressive 94% of pupils at Summerhill Academy met the expected standard in reading, writing, and maths — well above the national and local averages. Furthermore, 9% of pupils achieved at a higher standard.

In standardised assessments, pupils achieved average scaled scores of 110 in both reading and mathematics, significantly outperforming the national average scores of 105 for reading and 104 for mathematics.

The highest possible score a pupil can attain in these assessments is 120.

Chris Barrett, Principal of Summerhill Academy, said: “We are incredibly proud of our pupils and staff for their dedication and hard work.

“These results reflect the high expectations, commitment to excellence, and the strong learning culture we’ve cultivated at Summerhill Academy.

“We will continue to build on this success and ensure every child thrives.”
