Summerhill pupils embark on community research project

Pupils from Summerhill Academy visited a local care home to interview residents about their primary school experiences and views on fairness as part of a research project.

Children then visited the University of Bristol and spoke to students and staff in the Students’ Union about their experiences.

It was a fascinating and exciting day full of brilliant conversations, new perspectives, and valuable research.

School leaders said the team represented the school brilliantly and should be very proud of themselves.

A spokesperson for the academy said: “Our pupils demonstrated exceptional curiosity, confidence and respect throughout the day.

“By speaking with people from different generations and backgrounds, they gained valuable insights into how experiences of education and fairness can vary over time.

“We are incredibly proud of the thoughtful questions they asked and the maturity they showed while representing the academy.”
