More than 200 colleagues from across the Cabot Learning Federation will be lacing up their running shoes and walking boots this weekend to raise money for a great cause.
In total, a record 217 people will be joining the CLF Big Run and Big Walk on Sunday, with participants tackling a range of tough challenges.
More than 70 people will be part of the CLF Big Run, which will see them competing over 10km or half marathon distances in the Great Bristol Run, or the 13-mile coastal route at the Weston Super Half.
Meanwhile, 140 CLF colleagues will be making the trip to Wales to complete the CLF Big Walk’s 2,906ft ascent of Pen Y Fan, a tough four-mile CLF Big Walk in picturesque surroundings.
All runners and walkers from right across the Trust will be taking part to help raise money for the CLF’s Big Trip, an action-packed summer adventure for 72 of the CLF’s most vulnerable pupils with Outward Bound Association in Abergavenny.
For many of these pupils, it will be the first time they have had an opportunity to enjoy activities of this type.
CLF Big Events lead Kate Richardson said: “We’re immensely proud of all of our Big Run and Big Walk participants, and their commitment to doing this together as one trust. We wish them all luck this weekend.
“Their efforts will make a real difference to some of our most vulnerable pupils by enabling them to taste a number of new experiences while making new friends and lifelong memories.”
