Uphill Village Academy pupils are getting into the community spirit by taking part in their village’s annual scarecrow festival, North Somerset’s biggest and most strawsome celebration of creativity.
First launched in 2008, Uphill’s Scarecrow Festival has become a much-loved, family-friendly weekend packed with fun, creativity and community spirit.
Held every September, the festival brings together local residents, families and visitors for a unique scarecrow trail around the picturesque village of Uphill.
This year’s theme is ‘Myths, Legends and Fairytales’, with participants encouraged to create their scarecrows using recycled and reused materials wherever possible.
Pupils at Uphill Village Academy have been busy putting their imaginations, creativity, and teamwork to the test as they designed and created their own amazing scarecrows for the festival.
Visitors can pick up a trail leaflet from locations around the village before setting off to discover the scarecrows lovingly created by local residents and community groups.
With plenty to see along the way, the festival offers something for everyone and provides a fun and enjoyable way to explore the village while celebrating the creativity and community spirit of the area.
A spokesperson for Uphill Village Academy said: “We are delighted that our pupils have had the opportunity to get involved in such a wonderful community event.
“The scarecrow festival has given them the chance to be creative, work together as a team and think about how every day and recycled materials can be transformed into something imaginative and fun.
