Uphill Village Academy pupils take a stand against bullying

Pupils at Uphill Village Academy are actively participating in Anti-Bullying Week, a nationwide campaign dedicated to raising awareness and taking a united stand against bullying.

This year, the academy kicked off the week with Odd Socks Day, an event encouraging pupils to wear mismatched socks as a visible reminder that everyone’s unique qualities make them valuable.

This fun and symbolic activity reflects the week’s theme: promoting kindness, respect, and acceptance within the school community, as well as educating students on the importance of respecting one another, celebrating diversity, and building a safe, inclusive environment for all.

Sam Hodder Principal of Uphill Village Academy said: “Anti-Bullying Week is a valuable opportunity for our school community to come together in support of a respectful and inclusive environment.

“Odd Socks Day is a simple yet powerful way for our pupils to celebrate what makes each of them unique.

“We are incredibly proud of our students for their enthusiasm in taking a stand against bullying and for actively promoting respect and kindness. This is a lesson they can carry with them beyond the school gates.”
