Uphill Village accredited as Kindness Ambassador school

A school-wide commitment to kindness has seen Uphill Village Academy earn accreditation as a Kindness Ambassador School for the second year running.

This recognition highlights the school’s continued commitment to spreading kindness across both the school and the wider community.

Leading the way as the school enters its third year in the programme are the newly-elected pupil ambassadors, who play a key role in promoting acts of kindness and compassion among their peers.

The accreditation is part of The School of Kindness, a project led by the 52 Lives charity, which aims to empower children and foster kinder schools and communities.

One of the unique initiatives at Uphill Village Academy is the use of ‘kindness tokens’, created by the pupils themselves to encourage kind behaviour during break and lunch times. The ambassadors are responsible for spotting and rewarding kindness with these tokens, which are colour-coded to link with the school’s house point system.

Sam Hodder, Principal of Uphill Village Academy, said: “We are incredibly proud to have been recognised as a Kindness Ambassador School for the second year in a row.

“At Uphill Village Academy, kindness is at the heart of everything we do, and it is inspiring to see our pupils taking the lead in shaping a more caring and supportive school community.”
