CLF students celebrate GCSE success

Nearly 2,000 students across the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) received their long-awaited GCSE results today – with many celebrating outstanding results and getting set for the next stage of their education.

Students in CLF cluster schools in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Somerset have cause for celebration after achieving a super set of results.

CLF Deputy CEO Sally Apps said: “As a trust we would like to extend our congratulations to the 1,994 students who are receiving their GCSE and equivalent qualifications today.

“These are the result of considerable effort, diligence and determination and the results celebrated today are opening the door to a range of excellent onward destinations for our young people who have studied at our mainstream and specialist schools.

“It is with considerable gratitude to our staff and parents that we celebrate, knowing that these outcomes are achieved as a result of a considerable team effort.

“It is particularly pleasing to see that this year, more young people who have experienced challenge and disadvantage during their school career are collecting strong results.

“We are proud of them and delighted for them, and wish all CLF Year 11 students – now part of our valued alumni and in many cases continuing their onward study with us – a happy and successful educational career.”

 

Bristol Brunel Academy

Bristol Brunel Academy is absolutely delighted to celebrate the GCSE achievements of its Year 11 students today.

These outcomes mark the culmination of five years of dedication and hard work.

As a staff body, the Bristol Brunel team is incredibly proud of what students have accomplished.

Their success is a testament to the commitment of staff, the resilience and determination of students, and the invaluable support from their families.

Together, we have worked incredibly hard to ensure that every student had the opportunity to thrive, and today’s results reflect that collective effort.

The school offered congratulations to the following students who have achieved exceptional results today;

Davine Jatto – All 9s and one grade 8

Anna Osborne – All 9s

Arham Uddin – All 9s and two grade 8s

Special mention too to Jaye Cook – Jaye has achieved an outstanding set of results, with eight grades at Grade 5 or higher. Despite unavoidable absences from school, Jaye’s determination and commitment have enabled him to secure the results needed to successfully progress to his Post-16 destination. Jaye’s personal and academic success is a testament to his resilience and serves as an inspiration to others.

Also a special mention to Olivia Lug, Liv Brownett, Fletcher Marley and Connor Lloyd who have taken advantage of every opportunity given to them to ensure a solid set of results.

 

Bristol Metropolitan Academy

Students had plenty to celebrate at Bristol Metropolitan Academy, which most earning the grades needed to fulfil their future ambitions in education.

Principal Kris Bridgeman said: “Bristol Metropolitan Academy is proud to congratulate its students on their GCSE results.

The outcomes reflect the hard work and commitment of our learners, with the majority achieving the qualifications required to take the next step in their educational journey.

“We thank our students, staff, and families for their dedication and support throughout the year.

Notable success stories included: Martin Baines (7 x grade 9s, 1 x grade 8 and 1 x grade 7), Theo Ivey (5 x grade 9s, 3 x grade 8s and 1 x grade 6), Megan Mills (5 x grade 9s and 4 x grade 8s), Pema Gyaltsen (4 x grade 9s, 4 x grade 8s and 1 x grade 7) and Mat Bomba (5 x grade 9s, 2 x grade 8s and 3 x grade 7s).

 

Broadoak Academy

Broadoak Academy students have yet again attained very well in the 2025 GCSE exams, with grades 9-4 in the basics (English and maths) improving for a third year in a row.

School leaders attributed the success to the hard work, dedication, and resilience of Broadoak’s ‘wonderful’ students, as well as the unwavering support of parents/carers, and the formidable work of staff in doing everything they can to support students to these outcomes.

Danny McGilloway, Principal of Broadoak Academy, said: “I could not be prouder of the way in which our students have conducted themselves throughout the whole examination season.

“Our results today are the product of two years of challenging GCSE courses, but five years of hard work and dedication. Our young people truly are amazing, and I take my hat off to them, to their families for their ongoing support, and to our staff for their endless endeavours to drive our young people to achieve the best they can, setting them up for the next stage of their journeys.

“The year 11 students were focused and determined. It was a joy to share this journey with them and to be able to celebrate with them. This truly is a wonderful community to be part of and wish them well as they begin the next phase of their education.

“A huge thank you to everyone – our hard work, our togetherness and community spirit are bearing fruit!”

The team at Broadoak are proud of all students; however, the following students deserve a special mention due to their exceptional outcomes: Johnny C, Breeze G, Emily McG, Nayin Shafir, Monty R, Aayan S, Vajra V, Caleb N.

All attained grades 9-7 across most or all of their subjects; an outstanding achievement. Broadoak wishes all of students the very best now as they move forward from here.

 

City Academy

City Academy has achieved another year of improvement in results, with students achieving the school’s highest average grades ever.

The number of students achieving grade 5s in both English and maths improved by 3.8%, with over 61% of students passing Maths and 63% of students passing English.

Principal, Ben Tucker says ‘I am delighted that the hard work of students, families and staff have led to the results that the students have achieved. It has been a pleasure to see students opening up their results and we wish them the best of luck in their next steps in education.’

 

Digitech Studio School

Digitech Studio School Bristol is proud to celebrate the impressive achievements of its students in this summer’s GCSEs and vocational qualifications.

These results reflect the dedication, perseverance, and hard work students have shown throughout their time at Digitech. Every student should feel incredibly proud of what they’ve accomplished.

Once again, creative and digital vocational subjects – core to Digitech’s specialist curriculum – have delivered outstanding outcomes, highlighting the strength of the school’s provision in these areas.

Hanham Woods Academy

Hanham Woods Academy is delighted to celebrate the achievements of its Year 11 student following the release of the summer 2025 GCSE results.

The school community came together this morning to celebrate the culmination of five years of hard work, resilience, and ambition.

This year’s results reflect another strong performance across the curriculum, with the academy’s Attainment 8 score reaching 45.4.

Notably, 63.6% of students achieved a grade 4 or above in both English and maths, while 39.9% secured grade 5 or above in these core subjects – marking an improvement from last year.

Principal Chris Ballard commented: “We want to congratulate all of our Year 11 students who received their results today. We are incredibly proud of their achievements.

“These results are a testament to their passion, commitment, and the unwavering support of our staff and families.

“At Hanham Woods Academy, we strive to deliver excellence, build trust, and raise aspirations – and today’s outcomes reflect that mission in action.”

Several students achieved exceptional academic success:

  • Akyra A: 8 GCSEs at grade 8, and 1 Distinction*
  • Leigh-Anne B: 3 GCSEs at grade 9, 4 at grade 8, and 3 at grade 7
  • Lydia D: 7 GCSEs at grade 9, 2 at grade 8, and 1 at grade 7
  • Kieran F: 5 GCSEs at grade 9, 3 at grade 8, and 1 at grade 7

These students exemplify the Hanham Woods’ values of dreaming big and working hard.

The academy welcomed students from 9.30-11am to collect their results in person. The morning was filled with celebration and reflection as students looked ahead to their next steps in education and training.

Hans Price Academy

Hans Price Academy has enjoyed further year-on-year improvement, with an increased number of students achieving at least a grade 4 in both their English and maths GCSEs.

That represents the strongest set of results in the school’s history, while 58% of students achieved a top grade – also a step up from past years.

Adrian Esch, Principal at Hans Price said: “It was wonderful to see our Year 11 students collecting their GCSE results and we are exceptionally proud of what they have achieved over their five-year journey at Hans Price Academy.

“The countless hours of learning and revision have really paid off, supported by a team of dedicated and talented staff.  We also acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable support of our families, who have partnered with us over the past five years to ensure their children are ‘Ready to Learn’. Together, we have fostered a culture of high expectations and self-belief, empowering students to realise their full potential.

“Their overall outcomes this year demonstrate the year-on-year improvements we are making at Hans Price Academy, with an increase in the number of students achieving at least a grade 4 in their English and maths GCSEs, as well as the number of students achieving a top grade across their range of subjects.

“I have no doubt that they will continue to be ambitious with their learning, and we wish them every success for the future with their chosen courses and destinations.”

 

John Cabot Academy

John Cabot Academy remains one of the area’s top performing schools after another year of outstanding achievements by its students in their GCSEs this summer.

Students at John Cabot Academy always thrive academically in a supportive and compassionate culture.

This year, 80% achieved a grade 4 or above in English and maths. And 61% achieved a grade 5 in both subjects. This makes us one of the best schools locally and nationally, once again.

John Cabot Academy Principal Kate Willis said: “There have been exceptional results at JCA, with students achieving grade 9 in all of their exams. However we are incredibly proud of the hard work and achievements of all of our students.

“Our teachers have worked tirelessly to engage, challenge and motivate our students so that when they leave us they have a strong sense of self, place and the agency to fulfil their potential. We look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.

Kingsmead School

Students at Kingsmead school are celebrating today after their hard work and efforts were rewarded with some excellent exam results.

Headteacher John Eddy said: “This was an exceptional year group who consistently worked hard for their success. They took all the opportunities offered by a very dedicated group of teachers to ensure that they were well prepared for the exams.

“We continue to see our results improve across a wide range of measures. We saw increased outcomes for students securing both English and maths, as well as increases at the highest grades of 7 and above.

“We are also delighted that our students with educational needs also did really well securing our best results for six years. Several of our students had to overcome significant challenges during their exam years and we are very proud of their significant achievements.

“Particular praise goes to Jasmine C with 7 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s, Harriet H with 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s, and Bea L , Georgia A and Elle Z with 3 grade 9s each.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed working with these students and wish them every success as they continue their studies and training.”

 

King’s Oak Academy

The staff and academy councillors of King’s Oak Academy extend their heartfelt congratulations to the school’s Year 11 students who have received their GCSE and BTEC results today.

These excellent grades reflect the hard work and dedication each student has shown throughout their five years of secondary education.

King’s Oak students – supported by their parents, carers, friends, and the King’s Oak staff – demonstrated remarkable tenacity and resilience, ensuring they reached their full potential.

Monkton Wood Academy

Students at Monkton Wood Academy had plenty to celebrate, with some notable successes resulting from the ‘perseverance and character’ students demonstrated in their studies.

Monkton Wood Principal Hannah Jones said: “Every student has their own story behind their results today, and we are proud of each and every one of them.

“These results reflect not just academic achievement, but the growth, perseverance, and character our students have shown throughout their five years with us.

“We also want to thank our teachers for their tireless commitment and our parents for their continued support.”

Some individual success stories:

  • Molly Price achieved 8 x grade 9 and 2x grade 8.
  • Kian Hoyle achieved 7 x grade 9, 1 x grade 8 and 1 x grade 7.
  • George, who was supported in the Cedar Centre autism resource base, got grade 8 in maths and science, and 7s in geography and history

 

The Sky Academy

The boys at Sky Academy have done well in their exams this year and have exceeded last year’s outcomes in terms of the number of qualifications achieved by each student.

Almost all of the Year 11 cohort have secured a place in further education or an equivalent pathway appropriate to needs.

Children have received GCSEs in English, Maths, Art, Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, Food Technology as well as PE.

Some 69% achieved a qualification in both English and maths, with 85% earning a qualification in maths and 92% achieving a qualification in English.

Sky Academy Principal Gaby Long Principal: “It has been great welcoming several of our students and parents in today to receive their results, to celebrate their personal successes and the progress that they have made throughout their time at Sky.

“I am delighted that so many of our 11 cohort have secured a post-16 destination. I’m also pleased with the academic outcomes and the number of children who have achieved so many qualifications and have the currency they need to take the next steps towards adulthood, employment and independence.

“Our team are all extremely proud of every single one of our young people who are brilliant ambassadors for our school and community.”

 

Snowdon Village

The children across Snowdon Village have done well in their exams again this year and 100% of the Year 11 cohort have secured a place in further education.

Students earned GCSEs in English language, English literature, maths, science, history, geography, citizenship, business studies and art, as well as vocational qualifications in hair and barbering, PE, construction and catering.

Some 68% secured GCSE qualifications in both English and maths, with 90% securing a GCSE in English and 88% achieving a GCSE in maths.

The school is particularly impressed with the students who have managed to secure grade 4s in their maths, art and citizenship GCSE.

Principal Alex Davies said: “I’m excited to start thinking about the new academic year and what our current Year 10 (soon to be year 11) will achieve next year.

“During the summer term we took our Year 10 students to climb to the top of Mount Snowdon. Many of the children we work with have never left Bristol, so to experience climbing Mount Snowdon with them was an honour and a privilege. The children were exceptional and achieved something that many adults have never done (climbing a mountain).

“Snowdon Village isn’t all about gaining academic results. It is important to me that we provide our children with life changing opportunities such as climbing mountains or giving children the stage to sing and perform at our annual conference.

“It is these experiences that will stay in the minds of our children long after they leave us and inspire them to believe that they can do anything and that anything is possible.”

 

Tewkesbury Academy

Tewkesbury Academy is celebrating another wonderful year and congratulates all Year 11 students on their success in their GCSEs and other Level 2 awards.

With another year of improved outcomes, Tewkesbury really is a great place to go to school.

With more than 63% of students achieving grades 4 and above in their maths and English, as well as an increase in attainment across the board, it has been a good year for the school community.

This success reflects not only the students’ own hard work but also determined input from teachers and families who have motivated and encouraged these young people to strive to give their best.

Special congratulations go to Tewkesbury’s highest-attaining students Ellie Murphy, Rona Mackenzie, Milly Wade, Oscar Davis, Sam Sawyer, Charlie Pound, Imogen Cooper, Ava Thomas, Evie Skelding and Dan Tidman. We are also delighted that Ed Ferrier has done well achieving high grades across a range of subjects – his brother Joseph received his A-levels from Tewkesbury Academy last week.

Winterstoke Hundred Academy

Winterstoke Hundred Academy is proud to celebrate the release of its first ever set of GCSE results.

This milestone is especially meaningful for the founding cohort of students, who joined the academy when it first opened and have seen it grow from a small, emerging school into a thriving, full-capacity academy.

Headline results in English and maths are strong, performing above the national average, with equally strong performances in science, drama, hospitality and catering, and computer science.

These outcomes reflect the academy’s commitment to delivering a broad and high-quality curriculum.

Principal Matt Randle said: “We are absolutely delighted with our students’ achievements. This cohort has shown remarkable resilience and ambition. They’ve not only navigated the academic demands of GCSEs, but also helped shape the culture and identity of our school from the very beginning.

There are many notable success stories among Winterstoke Hundred students. Particular highlights include Adam Zagrobelny, who achieved 8 grade 9s and 4 grade 8s, and Victoria Cis, who achieved 3 grade 9s and 7 additional grades at grade 7 or above.

Enrolment is now open for post-16 courses at Winterstoke Hundred’s dedicated Sixth Form Centre, located at the Beaufighter Road site in Weston-super-Mare.
