Year 3 pupils at Minerva Primary Academy had a fantastic time during their first music lesson of the term.
The session introduced the children to the djembe drum, a goblet-shaped, rope-tuned instrument with a goatskin head, originating from West Africa and traditionally played with bare hands.
Alongside exploring the rhythms of the djembe, pupils also enjoyed learning two lively new songs, which filled the classroom with energy and excitement.
A spokesperson for Minerva Primary Academy said: “Music is such an important part of our curriculum because it builds confidence, teamwork, and creativity.
“Pupils were so engaged in their first lesson, and it was wonderful to see them embrace new sounds and rhythms with such enthusiasm.”
